Head Chef jobs

The title of Head chef can cover a variety of Senior roles in the catering industry.

The Head chef's role involves a variety of different components from the man management of all kitchen and catering staff through to the management of suppliers to meet both the requirements of menus and budgets.  The Head chef will be responsible for hiring and firing Kitchen staff as well as planning Menus and dealing with suppliers on a daily basis.  In Larger organisations the Head Chef may leave much of the day to day running of the Kitchen to the Sous Chef. 

Other names often used for Head Chef jobs are 'Chef de Cuisine' or perhaps 'Kitchen manager' and in very large organisations sometimes the term 'Executive chef' is used.
